July 19, 2014
Still a couple of days behind, but the Internet seems
stronger at the hotel we’re at now so I should be able to
catch up. Today (the 19th) in
Magic Kingdom felt like we were finally at Disney World. The other parks are great, but this really
brought back the childhood nostalgia for me.
Not trying to brag (and knock on wood so we don’t
blow it tomorrow) we timed things perfectly today. We arrived at the park before it opened and
went the opposite direction from the crowd who mostly headed toward the new
Seven Dwarves Mine Train. We made it
onto the first train of the day at Thunder Mountain, and had no lines as we hit
Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise. We had a short line at Haunted Mansion, used
a fastpass at Space Mountain and then another short line at Buzz
Lightyear. Then we were back in our hotel
before noon for swimming and naps. We
headed back to the park at around 4 and lucked into a way to ride the Seven
Dwarves Train twice in less than an hour (sorry, but it was overrated – good
introduction roller coaster for kids, but I honestly wouldn’t
wait more than 30 minutes for it in the future). Between using fastpasses and staying until 1
in the morning, we were able to get on a ton of rides – many of our favorites multiple
times. Overall, a great day (I
have to admit though that I am done with Space Mountain forever although everyone else
loves it). We were pretty beat when we
got back to the hotel close to 2 am.
