This morning I ventured onto the Orlando public transit
system in order to save $700. Becky had found
a good deal on a rental car online before we left, but it was from a Budget
office at a hotel near Disney World. I
checked around near where we were staying for Universal, and all of the prices for comparable
cars were about $700 more so I went online to figure out which buses to
take. It required a little bit of
walking, two buses and took about an hour and fifteen minutes, but it was well worth
the savings. I was chatting with the guy
at the rental place, and he upgraded us from a full size car to a small SUV
which was a nice because otherwise the kids probably would have had luggage on
their laps.
We left Orlando, and drove about 6 ½ north to the Isle of Palms
off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. We were only there in the evening so we got our feet wet, but we'll go for longer tomorrow morning. Becky used to go there with her mom and dad when she was a little girl, and
the last time we were there was seven years ago on our RV trip with Grandma Kit
(and Aunt Dee flew out and met us there too).
It was good to be back at “Grandma’s
Beach”, and we plan to take her with us when we go again
tomorrow.

Love that place! Xxoo
